Our firm spans the twentieth century, having been founded by Edgar P. Mann in January 1901 when he moved his law practice to Springfield from Greenfield, Missouri. At that time, he became District Attorney for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Company, and this office represented that company and its successor, Burlington Northern Railroad Company, after the merger of the two railroads. Edgar P. Mann remained active in the practice of law into his nineties. His son, Frank C. Mann, became a member of the firm and practiced law into his eighties. C. Wallace Walter began his practice of law with the firm in 1937, and all of them were prominent in legal circles throughout the State of Missouri. They required of themselves, and of others associated with them, dedication to the practice of law, high standards of performance, and complete integrity.

Those qualities have always been and continue to be hallmarks of the firm. All the present members of the firm were trained under and believe strongly in those principles.

Our practice on behalf of firms and individuals includes a wide range of general civil matters with a degree of emphasis on Banking, Bankruptcy, Insurance Defense Litigation (including the fields of Product Liability, Torts, and Workers' Compensation), Commercial Law, Real Estate, Trusts and Estates, and Personal Injury.
